Case 1: Supporting HP-ITE Storage Networking Collaboration
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore recently launched a new centre to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with cost-effective advice on business continuity planning. The centre also aims to provide hands-on experiences for students in the specialised subjects such as Storage Networking.
Deployed in the centre are the latest storage solutions from Hewlett-Packard - the HP StorageWorks EVA 4400 and HP SAN switches. These equipment will provide ITE with an authentic learning environment for both students and lecturers that enable them to take on real-life projects in the future. ITE hopes to equip students with these niche skill sets to plug the gap in the availability of trained personnel in this industry.
VendPoint is proud to support HP in assisting ITE to roll out an up-to-date curriculum and delivering the technical hands-on knowledge of the EVA 4400 to the ITE lecturers.
ITE have signed an MOU with HP to collaborate on the setup of the ITE-HP Business Continuity Technologies Center on 4 Aug 2009. As part of the MOU, Vendpoint has been appointed by HP to work with us on developing a total of 180 hours (80T/100P) of curriculum materials for two modules - Storage Networking and Business Continuity Technologies. In order for our staff to be able to deliver the module effectively, Vendpoint was also requested to provide a total of 80 hours of training for teaching staff from both College West and College East. Through the engagement process, we found the staff from Vendpoint (Chris TAN) to be very knowlegeable in the technical contents and he stayed flexible in meeting the busy schedules of our staff from the 2 colleges. Other than the training and assisting us in the curriculum development process, the staff also played a key role in helping us prepare a BC/DR demonstration on the day of the MOU signing ceremony, where the top management of both ITE and HP, plus the journalists from Channel News Asia and LianHe ZaoBao. Overall, we find Vendpoint to be very professional in their work and is always ready to go the extra mile for us.

Case 2: Growing the business together
In August 2005, HP New Zealand invited Vendpoint to participate in a series of 3 two day training and teaming workshops with
their largest channel partner Gen-i, a recently acquired and fully owned subsidiary of Telecom New Zealand. Vendpoint's
specific responsibility was to develop the knowledge of over 100 Gen-i sales professionals so that they were sufficiently
skilled in the HP Enterprise Server and Storage products to become formally HP Accredited Sales Professionals.
Vendpoint was asked to deliver a specialized sales training course in each of the main cities of New Zealand over a 2 week
period specifically for Gen-i, who through mergers and acquisition had recently become the largest ICT and HP Reseller in our
country.
Establishing HP's credibility with this new entity and creating a competitive advantage for HP and the client from these events
was crucial to both HP and the partner’s senior management who sponsored the event for over 120 sales professionals.
Both HP and our client were delighted with the high quality, relevance and professionalism of this sales training experience
measured both in terms of management and student feedback and also the number of accreditations received from students passing
their formal exams after the event.
The Vendpoint instructor was very knowledgeable, was an excellent instructor and with very good English language and
interpersonal skills quickly built rapport with his audience and won their full confidence.
Despite the course being condensed into 1 day at our request (this course would normally have taken 2 days) all but 3 of the
120 students who sat the exams passed and received their HP Accredited Sales Professional (ASP) certification.
As a result of this very positive experience HP New Zealand has subsequently engaged Vendpoint on two further training
assignments in New Zealand and they are now our training delivery organisation of choice.

Case 3: Rapid Marketing Resource Tool adoption
As a worldwide initiative, HP Asia Pacific saw a critical need to improve the marketing funding process. A tool using Siebel
Marketing Resource Management was adopted as the standard platform for all business units in 12 countries. Change management
had to be quickly implemented. Adopting a simultaneous multi-prong approach, a team of VendPoint consultants together with the
AP HQ team trained and convinced the marketing communities in India, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines,
Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand to adopt this tool for overall better fund allocation and utilization.
We were rolling out a new Marketing Planning System across the region and needed to conduct effective user training to many
users in many countries in a short timeframe. VendPoint was able to quickly come up to speed on the system usage as well as
understand the business processes in order to provide an effective learning experience for the new users. The trainers
received high ratings for their delivery, helpfulness, and knowledge. Thanks to the help of VendPoint we were able to quickly
implement this new initiative in order to enhance our Marketing planning and effectiveness.
